Title: Assistant Director of International Admission Time Zone that you work in: EST

Territory: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands

When did you join the St. John's family and what degree(s) do you hold/from where? I first joined St. John’s in 2007 at our Rome campus, where I was Assistant Dean in St. John’s College for many years. I have been in my current role at our Queens campus since 2023. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Political Science from the University of Miami, a Master of Arts in International Relations, and an Advanced Certificate in International Law and Diplomacy from St. John’s University.

What you love most about St. John's? I love its mission to social justice issues both in the U.S. and around the world. Our commitment to this cause is reflected in our academic, programs (like our Academic Service-Learning courses), organizations and service opportunities (like our Ozanam Scholars, Student for Social Justice, SJU for Fair Trade programs and VISA – Vincentian Institute for Social Action). I think creating awareness and offering ways to participate in organizations that help the cause helps our students become better leaders and citizens of the world.

Favorite spot on campus? The great lawn. I love walking past it every morning on my way to my office. It is so serene and beautiful!

What advice would you give students? Don’t be afraid to reach out to your counselor to make that one-on-one connection and ask about what other scholarship awards are available in addition to our merit-based scholarships. I would also advise them to choose to study something they are passionate about and make sure they get involved in organizations that they care about, because that is where they will make those invaluable connections that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
