    Summer 2026 High School Scholars Program Application

    Welcome!  We are pleased that you are interested in our High School Scholars Program.

    The High School Scholars Program at St. John’s University provides rising senior year high school students the opportunity to earn college credits during the summer.  Students can enroll in up to two online college-level courses, taught by St. John’s University faculty.  These are the same courses that are available to our current St. John’s University students, and we are extending enrollment to high achieving high school students.

    Important information:

    • Application Deadline: Last day to apply is Friday, June 19, 2026
    • Dates of the Program: July 7 to August 10.  Classes meet Monday through Thursday for two hours, unless otherwise indicated.
    • The cost of each course is $1,000.00, which is due on July 1st, 2026.
    • Grades earned during the High School Scholars Program will begin, or be added to, the student’s academic transcript at St. John’s University, and therefore will be factored into the cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA).  
    • Program Requirements:
      • The student must be a rising senior in high school with an anticipated high school graduation date of 2027.
      • The student must have:
        • Cumulative high school average of 92 without Standardized Test Scores OR
        • Cumulative high school average of 90 with minimum Standardized Test Scores of 1210 SAT or 25 ACT
      • The student must participate in an interview if requested by St. John's University.
    • Future tuition grant: Participating students who enroll at St. John’s the semester after high school graduation qualify for the $2,000 High School Scholars Grant, which is renewable for up to four years of continuous, full-time, undergraduate study at St. John’s.

    Important Notes:

    • If you close the application without completing all the required fields (denoted with *) and uploading the above two documents, your application will not be submitted, your information will be lost, and you will need to re-apply.
    • The Principal/Guidance Counselor Recommendation Form can be sent to Margarita David at St. John’s University via email (gonzalm3@stjohns.edu) or by postal mail to the address below.
    • The Official High School Transcript should be mailed to the address below.  The official transcript can also be hand-delivered to this address, but the envelope must remain sealed.  If St. John’s University is presented with an unsealed envelope, the transcript is considered unofficial, and an official transcript is still required.  The official transcript does not need to include the grades of the last marking period/term.

      • I meet the academic requirements of the High School Scholars Program at St. John's University.
      • I am responsible for ensuring that St. John's University receives the High School Scholars Principal/Guidance Counselor Recommendation Form on or no later than June 19, 2026.

    • I authorize my high school representative to review and discuss my academic record/credentials with a representative from the High School Scholars Program at St. John’s University, and I hereby waive my right under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) to access and/or review the “Principal/Guidance Counselor Recommendation Form.”  Furthermore, I am authorizing the release of academic information to St. John’s University, upon request.
    • I understand that:
      • all completed High School Scholars courses, including grades received, will be part of my academic record at St. John's University, and, therefore, will be reflected on my academic transcript and factored into my cumulative Grade Point Average.
      • if I enroll at St. John's University, the applicability of these credits toward my St. John's degree will depend on my chosen program of study.
      • the transferability of these credits to other colleges and universities is not, and cannot, be guaranteed. Students are advised to contact the Office of Admissions of the intended institution to inquire about their transfer credit policy.
